Glas

A few years ago I attended an Oktoberfest celebration at the Sierra Nevada Brewery. As part of the celebrations they invited a group of local glass blowers to setup and do their thing. I spent an hour sitting with a beer and watching them work - I was transfixed. Glass blowing is real magic.

I recently came across this 4k restored version of Bert Haanstra's 1958 Academy Award-winning short Glas. It is 10:00 minutes of pure magic. In addition to the artists onscreen, the editing and soundtrack are brilliant.
